Support Worker Position

Adult & Teen Challenge WA Inc (ATCWA) is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to put Hope in Reach of those wanting to be free from addiction, transforming their lives together with their family and the community. We are looking for Male and Female Support Workers to join our team at our Rehabilitation Centre located in Gibson Western Australia.

Our work aims to prepare our students to take an active role in shaping their lives and futures, to remain free from drug, alcohol and other addictions and to prepare them for the challenges and complexities of this day and age.

Working as a part of a team this role is critical in supporting our students as they live out their restoration.

 What your day will look like:

  • Providing care and support services to students.
  • Engage and work alongside students as they complete the rehabilitation program.
  • Support and teach students to practice new skills and implement life changing strategies.
  • Monitor personal care and hygiene, providing guidance to improve life skills.
  • Facilitate recreational games, activities and community work.
  • Work together with live in onsite with a team of dedicated and passionate workers.

Your job benefits:

  • Live in position with a 5/2 roster with option to stay in town accommodation on RDOs.

  • Comfortable with, and living out, the Christian ethos of ATCWA.
  • Able to demonstrate key skills and experience needed to fulfil the role with excellence.
  • Gifted in forward thinking with the ability to multi-task and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and be able to engage respectfully with a diverse range of people.
  • Would be highly favourable to have worked within a not-for-profit or charitable organisation with experience in drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs.
  • Favourable to have Certificate III or IV in Community Services AOD.
